Dazzle #2
This is the USS Mahomet, in dock, from shortly after WW1. It's not easy to determine exactly where the bow of the ship is. Cubism was a influencing style, and also possibly(?) the German style of cinema known as expressionism (watch The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari).
Speaking of Caligari, I wonder if Tim Burton knows about these ships. I could see him making a movie of them. I does kind of look like the sort of ship Beetlejuice would sail.
When these sailed in a convoy, it must have been a little rough avoiding collisions.
