I like the movement in this. For one thing, it puts it at a comfortable remove from studio portraiture.
Tonally, I think the blur also makes things more interesting. I find myself focusing more on gradations from light to dark instead of reconstructing a three-dimensional person. The blur makes the image less sculptural and more painterly.
